Embedding RRI in Western Balkan Countries
The Research Center for Computer Science and Information Technologies at MASA has been recently granted another Horizon 2020 project, titled WBC-RRI.NET. The overall aim of the project is to foster the application of the Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) principles in the Western Balkan Countries (WBCs) and promote a multi-level steering R&I governance framework. By enabling shared learning and diffusion of R&I, it is expected to enhance R&I planning and Smart Specialisation Strategies (S3) in Western Balkan territories.
The project commenced on March 1st, 2021 and is coordinated by the University of Novi Sad, Serbia.
The 13 project partners represent 8 countries of the Western Balkan and wider, such as Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Greece, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia. The project is planned to have a duration of 3 years, ending February 29th, 2024. The transdisciplinary proficiency of the team is owned to the academic and managerial background of the partners, acting as universities, research centres and institutes, non-profit foundations, business associations and governmental bodies.
The Macedonian team from MASA is composed of Acad. Ljupco Kocarev and Dr. Jana Prodanova. Throughout this project, the team will collaborate with experts from all layers of the R&I ecosystem and interact with representatives from all quadruple innovation helix framework, on planning an open and inclusive approach, entailing a comprehensive stakeholder involvement, and motivating an engagement with a focus on citizens’ participation.Project activities can be followed at:
